Wikipedia picture of the day on July 16, 2018: Mute swans (Cygnus olor) and their cygnets in Oxfordshire. Today sees the first day of Royal Swan Upping on the River Thames when swans are ringed. Ownership of swans in the Thames is shared by The Crown, the Vintners’ Company and the Dyers’ Company.
